We attend a range of events to give advice on planting woodland, and what grants are available.

We also hold training events and webinars on specific funding schemes and areas of forestry. We encourage you to sign up in advance to ensure your place.

Tree Health Clinic

Date: 6 May 2025 (Facebook 12pm to 2pm)

For this year’s Plant Health Week we’re hosting a live tree health Q&A on our Facebook page. Get your questions ready for tree health experts from Forestry Commission and Key Gardens. There’ll be tree and woodland health advice and tips on identifying tree pests and diseases. Join us on Facebook between 12pm to 2pm on 6 May.

Tree Production Innovation Fund (TPIF) knowledge transfer webinars

Dates: 20 and 22 May 2025 (online)

We are hosting 2 webinars to showcase the findings and outputs from projects funded through the TPIF. Hear from our experts and ask questions to learn more about recent innovations in domestic tree production. Sign up to the TPIF knowledge transfer webinars. Webinar details:

  • webinar 1 (20 May): this webinar showcases advances in peat-free growing media, tree seed science and propagation techniques

Tree Production Capital Grant (TPCG) ‘how to apply’ webinar

Date: 4 June 2025 (online)

Our grants team will guide you through the TPCG application process, sharing hints, tips and advice on applying. The TPCG supports tree nurseries and tree seed suppliers to improve the productivity and resilience of their operations. Sign up to the TPCG ‘how to apply’ webinar.

Seed Sourcing Grant (SSG) ‘how to apply’ webinar

Date: 12 June 2025 (online)

We’ll guide you through the SSG application process, sharing hints, tips and advice on applying. The SSG is open to individual landowners as well as small and large organisations with projects that increase the quality, quantity and diversity of seed stands and orchards available for seed collection. Great Yorkshire Show

Dates: 8 to 11 July 2025

Chat to us in the ‘Woodland Advice’ tent in the Forestry Section of the Great Yorkshire Show. We’ll be sharing practical ideas about integrating trees, woodland, and forestry into your land and farm business.

Dates: 10 to 11 September 2025 (Hertfordshire)
