Highlights

  • Total landings by UK vessels decreased in September 2022 compared to 2021, down 5 per cent. However, the value of landings in September 2022 (£93.6 million) increased compared to 2021 up by 11 per cent.
  • Pelagic species comprised the majority of quantity landed in September 2022. This was driven by increased landings of Herring which is typically targeted in the late summer months (July – September).
  • However, Demersal species comprised the majority of the value landed (35 per cent) despite only making up 21 per cent of quantity landed. This was driven by increased landings of high value species such as Cod, Haddock and Sole.
