Details

In March 2016, HM Treasury signed up as a signatory for the Women in Finance Charter (WIFC). Since then, we have increased our female representation in senior management from 43% to 50% as of March 2022.

The Treasury is committed to building a department that reflects and understands the citizens we serve. Our people are drawn from a rich mix of backgrounds, skills and expertise. This enables us to draw on the widest possible evidence, experiences and perspectives in order to better understand and resolve problems, effectively advise our ministers, strengthen our policy making, and maintain robust corporate functions.

This document outlines the progress we have made against our targets and the commitments to support women in the charter. We outline our future priorities and the current support we offer women in the Treasury to thrive.
