BEIS commissioned IPA Advisory Ltd and Databuild to carry out research into the non-domestic energy efficiency services market, in which organisations improve their energy efficiency by outsourcing work to separate service providers under contract.

Through desktop research and engagement with industry participants, the research produced the following information:

  • data on the size, shape and trends of the UK market
  • findings from stakeholders on their views on the needs of the UK market, including the priority drivers, barriers and enablers
  • identification of how other countries have developed their energy services and; potential actions to support the market

This report was published alongside the Call for evidence: Helping businesses to improve the way they use energy.
