The Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) submitted this report to DCLG following the completion of an investigation into suspected fraud relating to ERDF grant funding made to Thanet District Council in 2007 to 2008 under the European Territorial Cooperation programme.

Personal information has been removed as we consider disclosure of this information would breach one or more of the data protection principles in the Data Protection Act. The personal information relates to individuals who were interviewed as part of the investigation, but were not necessarily in post at the time of the fraud.

Additionally organisational identifying information has been removed where the organisation in question was not under investigation by the GIAA, but information concerning that organisation has been used as evidence in the report.
