Business appointment rules, October to December 2022

The Department for International Trade (DIT) issued decisions on two applications submitted under the business appointment rules for the period October to December 2022.
Duncan Adams
Title of former Civil Service role: Deputy Director
Date left or retired from the Civil Service: 7 October 2022
New employer: Henham Strategy
New appointment / employment (including when taken up): Director - 10 October 2022
Department’s decision on application (including details of any waiting period or other conditions or restrictions applied) requires that Duncan Adams must:
- for 1 year from the applicant’s last day of service, he should not become personally involved in lobbying the UK government on behalf of Henham Strategy or their clients
- for 1 year from the applicant’s last day of service, he should not make use, directly or indirectly, of contacts in government and/or Crown service to influence policy or secure business on behalf of Henham Strategy or their clients
- the applicant should not draw on privileged information available to him from his time in Crown service
Dr Thomas Webb
Title of former Civil Service role: Deputy Director
Date left or retired from the Civil Service: 27 December 2022
New employer: Newable
New appointment / employment (including when taken up): Director North, from 9 January 2023
Department’s decision on application (including details of any waiting period or other conditions or restrictions applied) requires that Dr Thomas Webb must:
- for 1 year from the applicant’s last day of service, he should not become personally involved in lobbying the UK government on behalf of Newable or their clients
- for 1 year from the applicant’s last day of service, he should not make use, directly or indirectly, of contacts in government and/or Crown service to influence policy or secure business on behalf of Newable or their clients
- not draw on privileged information available to him from his time in Crown service
