Departmental reviews provide assurance and challenge about the continuing need, efficiency and good governance of public bodies. This departmental review of the Pension Protection Fund followed the broad structure of the new review programme, which was published in April 2022 Public Bodies Review Programme, with a focus on 4 key aspects:

  • governance
  • accountability
  • efficacy
  • efficiency

The review was led by Lesley Titcomb, supported by a small review team from the Department for Work and Pensions and was conducted between January and April 2022.
