Steven Dickson

Biography

Steven brings more than 30 years communications, media and digital experience having worked for BT since 1989 until retiring in 2021. His roles included leading teams across Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific focusing on global contracts, strategic controls and revenue assurance. He was a member of the leadership team in BT Group Business Services. He also served a three year term on the governance board of BT’s pension scheme in 2018.

Steven is currently a non-executive director on the board of Scottish Water where he is also a member of the remuneration committee. He is also a non-executive director on the board of the Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service. Steven is an active member of the Institute of Directors, regularly engaging with local businesses and universities on a wide range of issues.

Previously, Steven was a member of the National Executive Committee for the Prospect Union responsible for members across a wide range of sectors including defence, justice, energy and public service. Steven occupied various executive positions from 2013 and was a senior negotiator on the BT Pay and Reward Committee from 2006 until his retirement.

Steven also has a keen interest in pensions, environmental issues, employee relations, reward, equality, diversity and inclusion. Outside of work he is an SFA qualified children’s football coach with his local community football club and lives with his family in Livingston.
