Biography
Ryan Shorthouse is a Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner. Ryan is the Founder and Executive Chair of the independent think tank, Bright Blue. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at King’s College London and a Trustee of the What Works Centre, Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO).

Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioners are responsible for:
- ensuring that the CSC fulfils the aims and objectives set by FCDO
- promoting the efficient and effective use of staff and other resources by the CSC
- ensuring that individuals are selected for Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships on merit and on the basis of clear criteria which reflect the objectives of FCDO and, where appropriate, other sponsoring departments
