Mark Jessop

Biography

Mark joined the Oil and Pipelines Agency in January 2023 as the programme director in charge of a small engineering capital projects team.

Mark has experience in high-revenue, complex projects and portfolio management. He has previously held several senior managerial positions, most notably within the Energy Industry.

Prior to occupying site manager and head of projects roles for the UK’s largest onshore underground gas storage facilities, located in East Yorkshire, Mark was involved with the engineering and operational management of CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) Thermal power stations and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) fleet.

One of Mark’s biggest achievements was the development and commencement of construction for the world-leading high efficiency Keadby 2 CCGT power station.

Mark is passionate about the transition to a low carbon and net zero economy, while maintaining energy availability, for the betterment of all.
