Lauren Costello
Biography
Lauren Costello has over 30 years’ experience in the education sector, specialising in strategy development and school improvement. She began her career as a teacher, proceeding to headteacher positions, before co-founding The White Horse Federation, a Multi-Academy Trust. As National Director for Primary and SEND, she was part of the leadership team that saw the transformation at AET. Her most recent role was Director for Primary Education and SEND at the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Lauren’s experience has provided her with a wealth of knowledge regarding strategy development and school improvement delivery, and she was awarded an OBE for services to education. She currently works as an independent education consultant.

STRB Member
The function of STRB is to consider matters referred to it by the Secretary of State for the Department for Education (DfE) in relation to the remuneration, professional duties or working time of school teachers in England. The Secretary of State can refer matters to STRB at any time. STRB reports to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Education.
