What we do

The Police Advisory Board for England and Wales (PABEW) considers draft regulations under the Police Act 1996 about matters such as recruitment, diversity and collaboration between forces. It also works with police managers and staff to respond to more general questions from the Home Secretary about changes to and reform of the police.

PAB is an advisory non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Home Office.
