Consultation description

As part of the Army Basing Programme, 4,300 army service personnel and their families are relocating to the Salisbury Plain area. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has been consulting interested parties on its Salisbury Plain Masterplan, which sets out proposed developments to support these moves.

The Salisbury Plain Masterplan

The masterplan includes detailed proposals for new service family homes, new accommodation blocks for single soldiers and the construction or conversion of other buildings such as garages, offices and mess facilities.

The proposals set out potential changes across the area between Larkhill, Bulford, Tidworth and Perham Down with other MOD sites in Wiltshire seeing less significant changes. The pattern of army training may also alter within the Salisbury Plain Training Area, although the level of activity is not expected to exceed recent levels.
